About this release

The Shipwrecked is scheduled for release on April 23, 2026. The film marks a return to Mexico for director Diego Gutiérrez, who moved to the Netherlands thirty years ago. Through the work, Gutiérrez examines personal and philosophical questions that appear to have informed the project: how people cope with loneliness and grief, how one connects with nature, and whether a safer, easier life in another country constitutes a better one. No platform or distributor information has been announced.
