Sgt. Haane

Sgt. Haane is a documentary-drama film scheduled for release on April 23, 2026. The film centers on Lance Sgt. Haane Manahi DCM, a soldier of B Company, 28th Māori Battalion, whose actions during the 1943 Allied assault on Takrouna — a fortified hilltop position in Tunisia — proved pivotal to the outcome of that engagement. Takrouna, a heavily defended summit, was one of the most demanding objectives faced by New Zealand forces in the North African campaign. The film examines Manahi's conduct during that battle, for which he was awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal.
