The Desert of the Real

The Desert of the Real, also known by its Dutch title Woestijn van de werkelijkheid, is a documentary produced by seriousFilm scheduled for release on August 13, 2026. The film gives voice to six people who have each experienced psychosis, asking them to reflect on questions of identity, the nature of reality, and how to live under the weight of a chaotic world. Each subject shares the capacity for deep thought and a personal history marked by intense psychological and social pressure at critical moments in their lives. The film is presented in Dutch.
