The film weaves together four stories set across the Nordic region, each framed around one of the classical elements — fire, water, earth, and air — as they manifest in a natural world under strain. The film explores what it means to be prepared in the face of elemental forces, suggesting that readiness extends well beyond practical measures such as sandbags and fire extinguishers.
