Water Lilies

Water Lilies (수련) is a Korean-language drama produced by Secondwind Film, set for release on August 19, 2026. The film centers on Hyo-won, who aspires to become an actress, and Eun-seo, her companion, who together leave their rural home for Seoul. Hyo-won pursues membership in a theater company by taking acting lessons from an established actor, Su-yeon, while Eun-seo takes work at a restaurant to help cover expenses. Su-yeon frames acting as the practice of fully understanding and expressing other people's pain — a principle that quietly reflects the emotional distance between the two friends. The film examines the gap between ambition and self-awareness among young women finding their footing in the city.
