Roots and Wings

Roots and Wings, known in German as Wurzeln und Flügel, is scheduled for release on June 29, 2026. The film centers on Maja, who as a child lived an unsettled life alongside her mother Marie, a street clown who moved from place to place without a fixed home. Their travels brought them at one point to a village on the Italian coast. As an adult, Maja searches for traces of that past, reckoning with a childhood that offered little in the way of roots, and with the stability she found only later, while living with her grandfather.
