Paid Mourners

Paid Mourners is scheduled for release on July 15, 2026. The film is in Armenian and centers on Margo, a 16-year-old with a growing TikTok following who has little interest in the family trade — professional mourning, a practice passed down through the women of her household. When her grandmother, Bavo, announces she has one week to live, and with Margo's mother absent, the responsibility of continuing the tradition falls to Margo. The film's central tension plays out across those seven days, as Bavo works to prepare Margo for the role.
