Kommersant (Коммерсант) is scheduled for release on April 23, 2026. Set in Moscow in 1996, the film centers on Andrey Rubanov, a young banker who, alongside his friend Misha, holds over a million dollars and envisions himself among the emerging oligarch class of post-Soviet Russia. When the two enter a large financial deal, they discover that associates have been running a scheme to steal billions from the state treasury. Rubanov is arrested and placed in an overcrowded communal cell at Matrosskaya Tishina, the notorious Moscow pre-trial detention facility, where the narrative follows his attempt to adapt and survive incarceration.
