I Don't Know What I'm Doing Here is scheduled for theatrical release on July 18, 2026. The film centers on Mima, an American college student who travels to a remote Romanian village where her grandmother, Esther, was born. She is accompanied by Jacob, a recent film-school dropout and friend, as well as a young translator she found through Facebook. Mima navigates the unfamiliar terrain using only her grandmother's unmarked photographs and recorded oral history, both collected before Esther's death. As the three search for physical evidence of Esther's life — scaling walls and crossing fields — the personal questions underlying Mima's journey gradually come into focus.
