Hijamat

Hijamat is scheduled for release on July 8, 2026. The film follows Murad, a fifty-year-old man whose life is upended when he discovers his younger brother is gay. Caught between his desire to support his brother and the opposition of their traditional Muslim family, Murad faces pressure from multiple directions: his father, who maintains close ties to the local imam, and his brother's circle of friends. As conflicts accumulate, Murad himself becomes a figure in need of support rather than simply a provider of it. Beyond the immediate family dynamics, the film engages with themes of migration and dialogue — both between different religious traditions and within communities that are often treated as monolithic.
