Cold War 1994

Cold War 1994 (寒戰1994) is set in Hong Kong in 1994, three years before the territory's handover to China. The film centers on the Special Branch of the Royal Hong Kong Police Force, which is preparing to disband, when the kidnapping of a powerful business tycoon triggers a covert power struggle within the force. Two officers stand at the heart of the conflict: M.B. Lee, described as passionate and principled, and Peter Choi, cold-blooded and politically ambitious.

Four factions converge around the crisis — the wealthy Poon family, the police, the triads, and the British colonial authorities — each pursuing competing agendas as old alliances fracture. The film is scheduled for a wide release on May 1, 2026.
