Carola!

Carola! is a Swedish documentary produced by Triart Film AB, scheduled for release on 21 August 2026. The film centres on Carola Häggkvist, the Swedish singer who has maintained a devoted audience across several decades and who attracted the attention of director Ingmar Bergman to such a degree that he reportedly watched footage of her wedding on repeat. Working from exclusive archival and contemporary footage, the film examines both her public career and her personal life. A recurring thread is the question of agency: having been directed by others since she began performing at the age of sixteen, Häggkvist is shown, at sixty, taking charge of her own life and narrative.
