Blind Road

Navigating Dhaka’s chaotic, bumper-to-bumper traffic is a relentless daily struggle. To beat the endless gridlock, many commuters abandon their vehicles to walk on the sidewalks. Among them was a mother walking her young child to school. Strolling along the tactile paving designed for the visually impaired, the young child was suddenly terrified as a recklessly speeding motorcyclist roared up from behind. Just a short distance ahead, an unsuspecting blind man walking along the guided path stepped directly into the biker’s way. Furious, the reckless youth began shouting aggressively when the blind man failed to move aside. Outraged by the biker's blatant disregard for both the law and basic human decency, an angry crowd quickly gathered on the sidewalk and confronted him. Yet, in a striking twist of grace, it was the very blind man he had insulted who stepped in to shield the young lawbreaker from the crowd's wrath, turning a moment of chaos into a quiet lesson in compassion.
