The Little Ring

The Little Ring (小戒指) opens in cinemas on June 13, 2026. The film is adapted from a true story and follows a male protagonist whose relationship with his girlfriend deteriorates under the strain of conflicts tied to their respective artistic careers. A planned marriage proposal is indefinitely postponed as tensions mount, and a journey the couple takes together into Tibetan regions ultimately leads to the complete breakdown of the relationship and an unexpected conclusion.

The production draws on Eastern philosophical thinking as a framework for its emotional narrative, exploring themes of attachment and human nature. It features a cast that includes prominent contemporary Chinese artists alongside inheritors of intangible cultural heritage from Tibetan areas, positioning the film at the intersection of avant-garde art practice and traditional indigenous culture. The Chinese-language film carries the original title 小戒指.
