The story centers on Davide Lancia, a forty-year-old heir to a Rome-based construction empire built by his influential and unscrupulous father. Davide is given a clear directive: demolish a run-down building and replace it with a luxury residence, a task framed as his chance to prove himself a worthy successor. The arrangement is complicated by Ursula, a blind woman who remains in the building and refuses to vacate her apartment. Her presence and her resistance alter the trajectory of Davide's plans and prompt a shift in how he approaches life.
