Home Stories

Home Stories, known in German as Etwas ganz Besonderes, is scheduled for release on July 9, 2026. The film centers on Lea, a contestant on a television singing competition, who struggles to answer the production team's question of what makes her special. Unable to define herself, she begins inhabiting different roles and develops a particular fascination with her aunt Kati. Kati's return to her family home — driven by her appointment as head architect overseeing the renovation of the Residenzschloss — brings the extended family together under one roof. The reunion rekindles the hopes of grandparents Friedrich and Christel, who see an opportunity to revitalize their pension, a guesthouse that has seen little business in recent years.
