November 2026: The Hunger Games, Godzilla Minus Zero, Black Doves and GTA VI. What Is Coming and When

By Incoming Editorial Team · October 30, 2026

Godzilla Minus Zero — GKIDS, opens November 6, 2026

November has one very large theatrical release, one very large game, and a long Netflix slate that fills out with holiday films from the first week. This guide lists what we could confirm and where the sources disagree. Theatrical dates come from Box Office Mojo's release calendar, Netflix dates from What's on Netflix, published October 21 and labeled an early guide.

In Theaters

Friday, November 6 (wide)

Friday, November 13

  • Ebenezer, from Paramount, How to Rob a Bank, from Amazon MGM Studios, and Victorian Psycho, from Bleecker Street, all wide.
  • Paper Tiger, from Neon, opens limited and expands wide on November 20.

Friday, November 20

  • The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, from Lionsgate, wide. More below.
  • I Play Rocky, from Amazon MGM Studios, goes wide after a limited run the week before.

Wednesday, November 25 and Friday, November 27

  • Hexed, Disney's animated film, opens November 25, along with Hershey and Bitter Christmas (wide).
  • Focker-in-Law, from Paramount, opens limited on November 25 and wide on November 27.
  • Netflix has limited theatrical runs of The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth (November 25) and In Waves (November 27).

TheWrap's calendar, whose byline is dated January, also lists a Narnia IMAX engagement on November 26 ahead of its Netflix release. Box Office Mojo does not list it, so treat it as unconfirmed.

The Biggest One: The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping

Per Wikipedia:

  • Director and writers: Francis Lawrence directs from a screenplay by Billy Ray and Michael Lesslie, adapted from Suzanne Collins's 2025 novel.
  • Cast: Joseph Zada as the young Haymitch Abernathy, with Mckenna Grace, Jesse Plemons, Elle Fanning, Kieran Culkin, Ralph Fiennes and Glenn Close. Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson are reported to reprise their roles.
  • Length and release: 158 minutes, premiered in London on October 28, and opens in U.S. theaters on November 20, in IMAX.
  • Place in the series: the sixth film, a sequel to The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes and a prequel to the original.
  • Budget: $170 to 200 million in the infobox, though the Deadline article it cites reports "north of $150 million."

The soundtrack is scheduled for November 13.

On Netflix

The list below keeps to titles the guide labels as originals unless noted, and it says dates may change.

  • November 5: Black Doves season 2, the British spy thriller with Keira Knightley and Ben Whishaw.
  • November 6: Possible Love, directed by Lee Chang-dong.
  • November 11: Avedon, a documentary directed by Ron Howard.
  • November 12: The Empress season 3, the final season.
  • November 13: Heartland, with Jessica Chastain.
  • November 18: Gentle Monster, with Léa Seydoux, and Guarding Stars, with Leighton Meester and Jared Padalecki.
  • November 19: The Altruists, a limited series with Julia Garner and Anthony Boyle.
  • November 20: Steps, an animated musical with Amy Poehler as executive producer.
  • November 23: The Trials of Karen Read, a true-crime docuseries.
  • November 25: The Mosquito Bowl, directed by Peter Berg, and the NFL Gameday broadcast of Packers vs. Rams.
  • November 26: The Hunting Wives season 2.
  • November 30: The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, which the guide says arrives after its Peacock run. It is not a Netflix original.

Holiday films start on the first week of the month. Gordon, an Argentine crime drama, is listed for November with no date.

Games

Grand Theft Auto VI arrives on November 19 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with preloading reported for November 12. We cover what is confirmed in our countdown. Take-Two reports earnings on November 9, ten days before launch.

Dexerto's calendar lists a handful of smaller releases early in the month, including Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered on November 3 and Crymelight on November 4. Its November list was truncated on the page we read, so check your platform's store for the full month.

Dates to Check Before You Plan

  • Wild Horse Nine and Godzilla Minus Zero are both November 6 wide releases per Box Office Mojo. Our own film pages may still show earlier dates (October 30 and November 3) because of a feed error, so go by November 6.
  • Netflix dates come from an early guide and can move, and several titles have no description yet.
  • Narnia is in one calendar and not another.
  • Release dates for the games can change. GTA VI has moved once already.

Editorial Take: The month is lopsided. November 6 is crowded with specialty and family releases, November 20 belongs to The Hunger Games, and the games calendar we could verify is thin apart from GTA VI. If you are choosing one thing to see in a theater, the dates make it easy. November 6 and November 20 are the weekends with the most going on, so book ahead for those.
