The Dating Menu

The Dating Menu (廚師發辦) is a Cantonese-language drama and romance film set for release on 1 August 2026, produced by Dot 2 Dot Production Limited. The film follows a chef whose restaurant business is in decline. In an effort to reconnect with a teenage crush named Zelda, he turns to a dating app, and for each woman he meets who carries that name, he prepares a bespoke meal drawn from her personal story. Directed by indie filmmaker Amos WHY alongside co-director Frankie Chung, the film is structured as a road movie and uses Hong Kong's struggling restaurant sector as a backdrop to examine a man caught between nostalgia and an uncertain future. The central tension — whether to drift without direction or remain anchored to something already failing — runs throughout the narrative.
