Prophetess

Prophetess (Prophétesse) is a French-language docufiction film set for release on July 25, 2026. The film centers on filmmaker Océane Buxton, whose anonymous friend notices her striking physical resemblance to Modeste Niquette, a woman who has gone missing after years of claiming and photographing encounters with extraterrestrials. Niquette's unexplained disappearance has since given her a near-mythical status in her community. Working together, Buxton and her friend attempt to reconstruct a portrait of Niquette through a collage of memories, photographs, and small-town gossip, blending documentary and fictional modes in the process.
