Halee

Halee (हली) is a Nepali-language drama produced by Shubha Chirayu Films, set for release on August 7, 2026. The film draws from true events related to Chaupadi Pratha, a discriminatory practice historically prevalent in parts of western Nepal. Under this custom, menstruating or postpartum women and girls are removed from their homes and required to sleep in isolated huts or animal sheds. Though the practice has been curtailed in many areas, it persists in fewer locations, and the film centers its narrative on this social reality.
