Beyond The Mast

Beyond The Mast, known in Bengali as মাস্তুল, is scheduled for theatrical release on July 17, 2026. The film is set on a fuel-supplying oil tanker operating along river routes and follows Old Maqbool, a cook who extends goodwill to the crew around him. The vessel's helmsman, suspicious that Maqbool serves as a spy for the ship's owner, subjects him to persistent harassment. During a period of port maintenance, Maqbool encounters Noora, a young stowaway looking for refuge aboard the tanker. The helmsman uses the downtime to smuggle oil, drawing the owner's scrutiny. When the owner pays an unannounced visit and is taken with Maqbool's cooking, he permits Noora to remain on board as Maqbool's assistant. Cornered by the risk of exposure, the helmsman falsely accuses Noora of theft, setting off a chain of deception and conflict among the crew.
