Four of the biggest games on our tracker land between now and Christmas: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 on October 23, Phantom Blade Zero on October 29, Grand Theft Auto VI on November 19, and Path of Exile 2 in full on December 11.
Release dates in games move more often than in film, and two of these four have already moved once. So this guide separates what is confirmed from what is not, and links where we got each fact.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 — October 23
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is published by Activision and launches on October 23, 2026, according to its Xbox store page.
- Prices: The Standard Edition is $69.99 and the Vault Edition is $99.99. Upgrading from Standard to Vault costs $30, per the same page.
- Early access: Players who pre-order get Campaign Early Access from October 16.
- Game Pass: The page says the game is not available with Game Pass at launch.
- Platforms: Activision's announcement lists PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Nintendo Switch 2, according to the sources we checked. The Xbox page confirms there is no Xbox One version. We could not open Activision's own post, so check the platform list on your store of choice.
Note that store listings disagree on which studio developed the game, so we are not naming one here.
Phantom Blade Zero — October 29
Phantom Blade Zero is a single-player action role-playing game with a wuxia, or martial-arts, setting, developed and published by S-Game, per Wikipedia.
- Date: October 29, 2026. It was first announced for September 9 and was pushed back in June, with the studio citing a need for more time to improve quality.
- Platforms: PlayStation 5 and PC. Wikipedia does not mention an Xbox version, and none has been confirmed in what we found.
- Price: Pre-order listings show about $60 for the standard edition. The studio's own store pages are the place to confirm.
On Incoming's hype ranking, which covers movies, TV, games, music and books, Phantom Blade Zero is currently 113th.
Grand Theft Auto VI — November 19
Grand Theft Auto VI is dated November 19, 2026, after Rockstar delayed it from May 26 of this year, according to Engadget's report on the delay.
- Platforms: PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. A PC version has not been confirmed.
- Price: We found only one source for a specific price, which is not enough to print. For the pricing debate, see our earlier analysis of the $80 question.
Of the four, it ranks highest on our hype ranking, at 29th overall. Modern Warfare 4 does not currently have a rank in our data.
Path of Exile 2 — December 11
Path of Exile 2, from Grinding Gear Games, has been in paid early access since December 6, 2024. Its 1.0 release is set for December 11, 2026 on Windows, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, according to Wikipedia.
We could not confirm from a source we could open how 1.0 will be priced, so we are not stating it. It sits 236th on our hype ranking.
What Is Still Unconfirmed
- GTA VI on PC: no announced date or confirmation.
- Phantom Blade Zero on Xbox: nothing announced that we could find.
- Modern Warfare 4 on Nintendo Switch 2: the platform list comes from Activision's announcement as reported elsewhere, and the Xbox page does not cover it.
- Path of Exile 2 pricing at 1.0: not stated in the sources we could open.
Editorial Take: Two of these four games have already moved. Phantom Blade Zero slipped about seven weeks and GTA VI slipped about six months. Treat any launch date as a plan, not a promise, until the preload opens. The practical advice is dull but works: pre-order only when the platform and price are confirmed on the official store page, because those are the details that are still moving.
